Little Big Planet

I borrowed Little Big Planet from a work friend Doug, and from the moment I put the game in I was super excited. The intro is absolutely amazing with it showing you all of the creators as you walk by their faces. Nina and I beat the story mode in about 2 days and wow what a great story mode. There were only a few places that were supper difficult, but the checkpoint system really levels the playing field with that. Before we finished the story mode we tried to play online for a moment, and when you play online you play the level that the host wants and have no choice on what to play. Dreadfully the host decided to play the very last level of the game ruining the ending but not the entertainment. This is the first game I’ve played and heard so far that actually makes me want to buy more than two controllers. The multiplayer is extremely fun for a platformer. It seems now a days that platformers are really only fun when playing with multiple people to watch you fly around, jump into lava pits or do some crazy stunt, and with multiple people playing the atmosphere increases. Playing online stages with only local players works very well but we weren’t able to play online multilayer without the whole thing lagging. The levels can be what is expected out of user generated content. Some that are absolutely amazing and some you can’t figure out how a 3 year old can afford a ps3 and is creating the most annoying levels. All in all this is one of the best platformers I have played in a while. I would say the only way Mario could ever have a chance at this game as a platformer would be to somehow incorporate multilayer with luigi.
